Established by the Lubavitcher Rebbe, of righteous memory, to ensure that people perform the mitzvah of giving tzedaka—daily. Monies from Keren Hashana are distributed twice daily, before morning and afternoon services, for charitable purposes.

The Rebbe’s secretariat maintained a list of people that received financial assistance for the needs of Pesach. The Rebbe repeatedly encouraged donating to this Mo’os Chittim fund before the arrival of Pesach.

Keren Hachomesh

On the day of the passing of Rebbetzin Chaya Mushka, the Rebbe established this fund in her honor and memory. Over the Years, KEREN HACHOMESH has benefiting Jewish women and girls with financial aid, support for brides, widows and a host of women's educational programs and other causes.
